In Indonesia we work with two small orphanages. Because of Love Orphanage and Kind Hearted Orphanage are compassionately reshaping the futures of dozens of vulnerable children. These children now have a chance to grow up in safe, loving environments where dedicated staff and quality education opens doors to a brighter future. Short Strides partners with these leaders to provide project funds, training, and support—helping ensure a more hopeful future for these children.

In parts of South Asia, many young women from minority communities face a future marked by poverty, limited education, and vulnerability to exploitation. The Dorcas Sewing Schools provide a safe and structured environment where these women can receive hands-on training in clothing design and sewing. These are skills that offer a practical way to support themselves and their families. Each school operates as a small boarding community, offering basic food, shelter, education, and a place to grow. Short Strides partners with these schools to help strengthen the educational structure and provide resources that give these women something they’ve rarely had before: dignity, and a chance to build a stable, self-sustaining future.

In the remote Simbai region of Papua New Guinea, a dedicated group of local leaders has established a day school for children and an institute to train adults—bringing education to one of the most isolated areas in the world. Short Strides is honored to partner with these leaders, supporting their efforts to create long-term opportunity through accessible, community-driven learning. Together, we’re helping build a stronger future where quality education was once out of reach.

Short Strides is developing tailored English Language Learning (ELL) resources designed specifically for children who have little to no access to formal education. These tools will help bridge the gap for orphans, refugees, and isolated communities, opening the door to future learning and connection.
