Gary Meers

With over five decades of experience in education and workforce development, Dr. Gary Meers brings a wealth of expertise to the Short Strides board. Holding an Ed.D. in Vocational and Adult Education, Dr. Meers has served in roles ranging from Senior Professor at the University of Nebraska to Vice President of MaxKnowledge, a global leader in professional development. His work has focused on empowering marginalized populations to succeed in both educational and employment settings.

Dr. Meers has consulted for dozens of U.S. state education departments, universities, and ministries of education in 12 countries, giving him extensive cross-cultural insight. A former appointee to the President’s Committee for the Employment of Persons with Disabilities, he has championed strategies that open doors for people of all abilities and backgrounds to thrive. His passion for equipping underserved communities aligns deeply with Short Strides' vision to bring hope and educational access to vulnerable populations around the globe.
