Shawn Smith

Shawn is an experienced educator, curriculum specialist, and instructional designer with a deep background in both traditional and digital learning environments. With advanced degrees in education and library science, she has worked across multiple educational settings—including universities, middle schools, homeschool programs, and international classrooms—developing resources and programs that support literacy, research, and accessible education. Her expertise spans curriculum development, digital resource creation, and academic instruction for diverse and often underserved populations.

Having lived and taught internationally for more than a decade, Shawn brings a global perspective to Short Strides and a commitment to bridging educational gaps through innovative, adaptable solutions. She also brings extensive experience in content creation, research support, and user-centered design. As Executive Director, she oversees the daily operations of the organization and leads its mission to provide meaningful, measurable strides toward education and opportunity around the world.
